Zanzibar

Zanzibar is an Indian Ocean paradise that consists of two main islands, Unguja (commonly referred to as Zanzibar Island) and Pemba Island, along with several smaller islets. It is part of the United Republic of Tanzania and is located off the eastern coast of Africa. Day 1

Arrival and Leisure

  • Arrive at Zanzibar airport and take the provided transfer to your hotel. Check in and relax for a while.
  • Depending on your hotel location, you can explore some nearby attractions on foot or by public transport. Some suggestions are the House of Wonders, the Old Fort, the Forodhani Gardens, and the Darajani Market.
  • Have dinner at one of the many restaurants or cafes in Zanzibar. You can find cuisines from all over the world here, but don’t miss the chance to try some local specialties such as pilau, biryani, urojo, and zanzibar pizza.

    Day 2

    Nungwi Turtle Aquarium Guided Day Trip

  • After breakfast, head to Nungwi, a village on the northern tip of Zanzibar. You will visit the Nungwi Turtle Aquarium, a natural lagoon that hosts rescued sea turtles and other marine life.
  • You will have a guided tour of the aquarium and learn about the conservation efforts of the local community. You will also have the opportunity to feed and swim with the turtles in their natural habitat.
  • Have lunch at one of the nearby restaurants or cafes. You can also enjoy the beautiful beach of Nungwi and relax on the white sand or swim in the turquoise water.
  • In the afternoon, you can either continue exploring Nungwi or visit some other attractions nearby. Some suggestions are:

    Mnemba Island Tour & Nungwi Turtle Aquarium Ticket

  • After breakfast, head to Matemwe, a village on the north-east coast of Zanzibar. You will take a boat trip to Mnemba Island, a private island that is surrounded by a coral reef and a marine reserve.
  • You will have a full day tour of Mnemba Island that includes snorkeling, swimming, sunbathing, and lunch. You will see a variety of colorful fish and coral formations in the clear water. You might also spot dolphins, turtles, or whales along the way.
  • In the afternoon, you will return to Matemwe and then head back to Nungwi. You will use your ticket to visit the Nungwi Turtle Aquarium again if you wish. You can also explore other attractions in Nungwi or relax on the beach.

    Departure
